  Potter Township Planning Commission

 

September 28, 2010

 

 

Members Present:  Dick Decker, Ron Grove, Paul Sampsell, Pam Winter, Mike Troyan, Karl Eysenbach, Lynda Powell

 

Call to Order:  Chairman Ron Grove called to meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

 

Approval of Minutes:  The minutes of September 7, 2010 were approved on motion by Mike Troyan and second by Karl Eysenbach.  Motion carried.

 

Citizens Concerns:  None.

 

Zoning Officer’s Report:  Nothing to report.

 

Supervisors Report:  Dick Decker noted the township has agreed to purchase a five acre property in Potters Mills.  This was a proactive plan for the township in the event a small treatment plant would be needed.

 

Country Club Park plant is in operation.  A developer has expressed interest in purchasing the remaining EDU’s .

 

The Park & Ride is no longer an option.  Concern was of the historical nature of the area and water issues.

 

The tri-municipal park individuals met and heard a request from a model airplane club about them having an eight acre piece to put in an airport landing strip and observation area.  Discussion followed on the issues.

 

The supervisors are also working on the 2011 budget.

No comments were made on the final subdivision plans.  The minor subdivision for William Arnold was noted the lot did not pass perk and therefore is not buildable. 

 

Old Business:  The zoning officer noted he was contacted by general code on the re-codification and they are in the process of producing a draft hardcopy for review.

 

Lynda Powell is ordering copies of the Better Business Building document and inquired which media individuals preferred.

 

New Business:  Dick Decker noted grant monies are available for sidewalks.  Discussions followed as to location.

 

Karl Eysenbach noted his concern on the increase of lights in the area and noise.  Discussion followed on the dusk to dawn lights and noise levels.  The Planning Commission was asked to review other ordinances on the topics.

 

The meeting was adjourned at 8:00 p.m. on motion by Karl Eysenbach and second by Dick Decker.
