Potter Township Planning Commission
January 6, 2009
Members Present: Dick Decker, Ron Grove, Karl Eysenbach, Ron Sweitzer, Paul Sampsell
Members Absent: Pam Winter, Lynda Powell
Call to Order: The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Chairman Dick Decker.
Approval of Minutes: A motion was made by Ron Grove and second by Karl Eysenbach to approve the minutes of December 9th meeting as presented. Motion carried.
Introduction of New Members: Chairman Decker introduced the two new members – Paul Sampsell and Lynda Powell who had a conflict tonight.
Reorganization: Chairman Decker asked for nominations of chairman. Ron Grove nominated Dick Decker for chairman. Second by Paul Sampsell. Motion carried. Chairman Decker asked for nominations of vice-chair. Dick Decker nominated Ron Grove for vice-chair. Second by Karl Eysenbach. Motion carried.
Zoning Officer’s Report: No permits issued in December. Chairman Decker commented on the activity for the year: 11-new homes, 3-mobile homes, 17-home additions, 10-ag related, 5-commercial, 0-industrial, 11-sheds, 5-others, 3-pools, 1-use change.
Supervisors Report: Mark Fortney was named to the Zoning Hearing Board.

1. Centre County Planning Office, CCPCDO File No: 251-08, Lot Addition and Replots, Grantor/Grantee: Salvatore L. and Pauline R. Nicosia and Grantor/Grantee: Valley Business Association, LP.
2. Centre County Planning Office, CCPCDO File No: 217-08, Re: Final Subdivision Plan for Old Fort Country Meats, subdivision plan signed by Centre County Planning Commission.
Old Business:
Sewage Ordinance - at the present time there is not any movement. Chuck Herr has been authorized to rework the plan to incorporated DEP’s comments.
Wind Ordinance – the zoning issues must be addressed before we can move forward.
Change Georges Valley from Prime Age to Open and Forested and the PCI District is a map change. This change must be posted and the zoning officer will proceed with the sign posting. A public hearing is to take place in mid-March.
Zoning Issues – The zoning officer will work on the list of suggested zoning issues and present draft changes for Planning Commission review. The Planning Commission will also evaluate the recently published “Pennsylvania Standards for Residential Site Development” to determine if there is merit in allowing application in Potter Township. The zoning officer will attend Planning Commission Work Sessions on the last Tuesday of each month.
New Business:
The zoning officer noted he did not sign the Lush Sewage planning module since it was a copy.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:30 p.m. on motion by Ron Grove and second by Paul Sampsell.
