Old Business:

·         Ron Sweitzer has been accepted by the Supervisors to fill the seventh position on the Planning Commission.

·         The Commission revisited changing the zoning of some Prime Ag Zones with marginal farming potential to Conservation Zones.  The Commission reviewed a map showing Class 1, Class 2, and non-prime ag soils which are located in currently designated Prime Ag Districts.  The Commission is focusing on rezoning Prime Ag Zones south of Rt. 322 and the Prime Ag Zone within Upper and Lower Georges Valley to Conservation Districts.  These revisions will be revisited at the next meeting.

·         The Commission will recommend to the Supervisors that the acreage designation under item 4B, the Minimum Lot Area per Single-Family Detached Dwelling Unit, Church, Funeral Home, Day Care/Nursery and Conditional Use (page 27-19 of the Potter Township Zoning Ordinance) be revised from 3 to 2 acres.  This action was initiated by a motion from Lucy Curran, it was seconded by Dick Decker and unanimously approved by the Commission.

New Business:

·         The Commission will also recommend to the Supervisors that “Prime Agricultural District” be renamed to “Agriculture District”. This is consistent with the Penns Valley Comprehensive Plan.

Chairman Rod Humphrey adjourned the meeting to a work session at 8:01 PM.

Respectfully submitted, Lucy Curran, Planning Commission Secretary.
