Meeting
Members Present: Rod Humphrey, Monty Strouse, Dick Decker, Jake Tanis, Ron
Sweitzer and Lucy Curran.
Members Absent: Mark Fortney.
Call to Order: Meeting called to
order at 7:02 PM by Chairman, Rod Humphrey.
Approval of Minutes: A motion was made
by Dick Decker and seconded by Monty Strouse approve the minutes from the May
22, 2007, meeting. All members present
voted in favor to approve the minutes.
Zoning Officer’s
Report: None.
Supervisor’s Report: The Fastshoez Kart Racing proposal was rejected at the
Supervisor’s meeting last night. The
proposed racing enterprise is not consistent with the land use designated in a
Planned Commercial and Industrial District.

Ron
Sweitzer has been accepted by the Supervisors to fill the seventh position on
the Planning Commission.

The
Commission revisited changing the zoning of some Prime Ag Zones with marginal
farming potential to Conservation Zones.
The Commission reviewed a map showing Class 1, Class 2, and non-prime ag
soils which are located in currently designated Prime Ag Districts. The Commission is focusing on rezoning Prime
Ag Zones south of Rt. 322 and the Prime Ag Zone within Upper and

The
Commission will recommend to the Supervisors that the acreage designation under
item 4B, the Minimum Lot Area per Single-Family Detached Dwelling Unit, Church,
Funeral Home, Day Care/Nursery and Conditional Use (page 27-19 of the Potter
Township Zoning Ordinance) be revised from 3 to 2 acres. This action was initiated by a motion from
Lucy Curran, it was seconded by Dick Decker and unanimously approved by the
Commission.
New Business:

The
Commission will also recommend to the Supervisors that “Prime Agricultural
District” be renamed to “Agriculture District”.
This is consistent with the Penns Valley Comprehensive Plan.
Chairman Rod Humphrey adjourned the
meeting to a work session at 8:01 PM.
