Potter Township Planning Commission

May 22, 2007, Meeting

 

Members Present: Rod Humphrey, Monty Strouse, Dick Decker, Jake Tanis, Mark Fortney and Lucy Curran.

Members Absent: None.

Call to Order:  Meeting called to order at 7:01 PM by Chairman, Rod Humphrey.

Approval of Minutes:  A motion was made by Dick Decker and seconded by Monty Strouse approve the minutes from the May 1, 2007, meeting.  All members present voted in favor to approve the minutes.

Zoning Officer’s Report:  None.

Supervisor’s Report:  None.

Correspondence: 

  1. Franson Engineering & Surveying 4/06/07 Re:  Sinking Creek Subdivision Sinking Creek Road Intersection Widening and Grading.  No objection to the plans as presented.
  2. Centre County Planning Office 4/30/07 Re:  Final Subdivision Plan Anges E. Homan 4-Lot Subdivision.  The minor subdivision plan was conditionally approved.
  3. Centre County Planning Office 4/27/07 Re: Lot Additions and Replots Ronald L. and Janet M. Schaeffer & Jersey Shore Livestock, Inc.  The proposal can be approved subject to several listed requirements.
  4. Centre County Planning Office 5/01/07 Re:  Lot Addition and Replots Kevin M. and Jennifer H. Long & Joseh R. and Wendy J. Nolf.  The proposal can be approved subject to several listed requirements.
  5. Centre County Planning Office 5/02/07 Re: 90-Day Time Extension Request for Final Subdivision Plan lands of John H. and Mary Anne Mahaffy.  Ninety-day extension granted, time limit to expire July 30, 2007.
  6. Centre County Planning Office 5/04/07 Re: Receipt and Declaration of Intent for Minor Subdivision Plan of lands of William H. and Barbara L. Arnold.  The applicant will be notified within 15 days of the staff’s decision.
  7. Centre County Planning Office 5/16/07 Re:  Lot Addition and Replots, Conrad D. and Linda L. Shakeley.  The proposal can be approved subject to several listed requirements.
  8. Centre County Planning Office 5/21/07 Re:  Sewage Facilities Planning Module for the proposed Glenn W. and Kathleen K. Huey.  Comments and concerns were provided.

Old Business:  None.

New Business: 

·         The Commission did not reach a consensus regarding proposed modifications to the current Prime Agricultural Zoning Ordinance.  Potential recommendations will be revisited next meeting.

·         Rod Humphrey will recommend to the Supervisors that Ron Sweitzer become a member of the Planning Commission – filling the position vacated by Dave Henning.  This action was initiated by a motion by Jake Tanis, seconded by Monty Strouse and unanimously approved by the Commission.

 

Chairman Rod Humphrey adjourned the meeting to a work session at 8:32 PM.
