Potter Township Planning Commission
September
5, 2006 Meeting
Members
Present: Rod Humphrey, Monty Strouse, Dick Decker, Dave Henning, Lucy
Curran, Jacob Tannis and Mark Fortney.
Absent: None
Call
To Order:
Meeting called to order at 7:05 PM by
Chairman Rod Humphrey.
Approval of Minutes: Motion by Lucy
Curran and a second by Dave Henning to approve the minutes without a zoning
officer report. All members present voted in favor.
Zoning
Officers Report: None
Supervisors
Report: Monty reported that the Supervisors
instructed the Secretary, to draft a letter to the Centre County Planning
Office stating there was no objection to operations at Tax 25-5-40B by Swan
trucks during non-business hours (trucks delivering supplies
etc can access the facility 24 hours per day).
Correspondence
was shared and reviewed by the committee including the follows:
- Letter and preliminary arrangement sketch was presented by
Anita CorVin of Phillipsburg
requesting a 60 day time extension for her Doans
Bones conditional use application. Some discussion on procedures followed.
Concerns expressed by planning commission members were as follows:
1. Site distance
issue appears to exist at west access road onto State route 45. (may need to block or remove access road ),
2. Wood storage section
of the proposed building needs a fire separation from the remainder of the
building and needs to be in accordance with the PA State Building Code,
3. Lighting and
glare issues need to be evaluated with respect to the impact on the highway,
4. Smoke and odor
impact on adjacent properties will need to be considered.

- Note from Robert Hultquist stating
his opposition to paying $1250 Park and Recreation Fee because he allows

with the note.

Business: Rod reported that there will be meetings
on September
19, 2006 at 7:00 PM in the
Potter Township Office regarding the water conditions at the Sinking Creek
Subdivision and on September 21 at 7:00 PM in the Gregg Township
Office regarding the Penn State Property Purchase.
