BOARD OF SUPERVISORS

MEETING MARCH 17, 2011

 

A special public informational meeting was held by the Potter Township Board of Supervisors on Thurs., Mar. 17, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at the Centre Hall Lions Club, 153 E. Church Street, Centre Hall, PA with Supervisors Tom Sharer, Dick Decker, Bob Corman, Denny Foust and Jake Tanis present.  The meeting was held to discuss the Act 537 study of Potters Mills and sewage management planning in Potters Mills.

 

Also attending were Charles Herr-Twp., Pam Winter-Twp., Paul Sampsell-Twp., Roy Rupert-Twp., Ron Grove-Twp., Karl Eysenbach-Twp., Michael Troyan-Twp., Budd Brooks-Twp., Brenda Burd-Twp., Jeff McClellan-Twp., Anson Burwell Centre County Planning, Dave Hartnett CHPSA, Tony Shreffler, CHPSA, Nancy Mitcheltree CHPSA, Cynthia Lee of Wells Team, B.T.Schwier, Mel Sammis and Patrick Corbett III.

 

At 2:05 P.M. Mr. Decker opened the meeting and introduced the Board of Supervisors.

 

Mr. Decker gave a review of our Sewage Management Program, the Act 537 study plan and explained this planning is to help Potters Mills sewage problems.  The Supervisors are charged with keeping clean water.  He defined the Potters Mills study area; that the sewage management program letters will soon be going out to the Potters Mills area, how the findings will be documented, and possible treatment options for their sewage.  An effluent system is being proposed for Potters Mills on the site the Township purchased.  Mr. Decker gave estimated costs, possible funding sources, construction methods and possible operating costs.  He stressed we all need to work together toward one goal – keeping our water clean.

 

Cynthia Lee made a presentation on Orenco Effluent Systems; their designs, materials, components, collection costs and showed systems that are already designed and operating.

 

At 4:30 P.M. the meeting was adjourned.
