BOARD OF SUPERVISORS

MEETING OF AUGUST 17, 2009

 

A Conditional Use Hearing of the Potter Township Board of Supervisors was held on Monday, August 17, 2009 at 7:00 P.M. at the Potter Township Municipal Building, 124 Short Road., Spring Mills, PA.  The Hearing was held to hear public comment on uses and conditions of the uses for The General Potter Barn.  Supervisors Tom Sharer, Bob Corman, Dick Decker and Ron Sweitzer attended.  Also attending were Sewage Enforcement Officer Charles Herr, Zoning Officer Jeff McClellan, Solicitor Robert Rayman and Secretary Brenda Burd.  Jake Tanis was absent.

 

Others attending were Jeff Kreger, Sam & Binky Lush, Mary Ellen Whalen, Kathy Mothersbaugh, Armond Aquilino and Alan Decker.

 

At 7:00 P.M. Chairman Sharer called the meeting to order after which he opened the Conditional Use Hearing.

 

At 7:18 P.M. Chairman Sharer closed the hearing and reconvened the meeting.  Bob Corman made a motion to table making a decision on the hearing until all 5-Supervisors are in attendance at the September 14, 2009 meeting.  After discussion, motion died for lack of second.  Bob Rayman’s list of possible conditions was discussed with Mr. and Mrs. Lush after which Dick made a motion to accept Bob Rayman’s list of conditions and added that a surety bond or letter of credit equal to 125% of the cost of the sewage facilities and parking improvements be provided to Potter Township, seconded by Bob Corman, motion carried.

 

Tom reported a meeting of the Tri-Municipal Park on 8/18/09.

 

Bob Corman discussed the new Cooperative Agreement with the Borough and Fire Co. and made a motion, seconded by Ron, to appoint Jake as the Township’s designated Fire Tax Committee check signer, motion carried.

 

Tom presented a letter from the Census regarding count of houses and said from this point forward Jeff will have the information on houses built for the census program.

 

The Board gave consent for hunting again this year in the Township woods.

 

Adjournment

At 7:35 P.M. Chairman Sharer adjourned the meeting.
