BOARD OF SUPERVISORS

MEETING OF MARCH 1, 2004    

                                                                                        

The first monthly meeting of the Potter Township Board of Supervisors was held on Monday, March 1, 2004 in Township Building #2 with Supervisors Paul Zerby, Monty Strouse, Bob Corman, Rich Poorman and Tom Sharer present.  Also attending were Road Superintendent Budd Brooks, Solicitor Robert Rayman, and Secretary Brenda Burd.

 

Chairman Zerby called the meeting to order at 6:59 P.M.

 

Minutes of the February 9, 2004 meeting were approved as presented on a motion by Bob C. and seconded by Rich.  Motion carried unanimously.  

 

Citizens Concerns – none.

 

Secretary’s Report

·        Presented Dept. of the Auditor General Form AG-385 Annual Report on Pensions & Fire Relief Programs for the Chairman’s signature.

·        Norm Lathbury said a Supervisor needs to Chair the Ag Security Committee.  Paul Zerby volunteered.

·        Our Quick Books Pro 2001 version is being retired and needs updated to 2004 version in order to receive Payroll updates.  The cost through Quick Books is $169.95, with free shipping.  It was suggested the Secretary get prices from other sources.

·        Asked permission to attend the Secretary session on the Sunday of the PSATS annual convention in Hershey; it costs additional.  Tom made a motion to approve, seconded by Bob C., motion carried unanimously

·        Presented a workshop sponsored by Centre Co. Conservation District at Patton Twp. on March 17; subject is Landscaping Techniques in Centre County Watersheds.  Reservations due March 12.

Open Discussion

·        A bicentennial celebration was discussed.  Suggestions made were updating and republishing Potter Township’s history and having an open house.

·        Budd presented an Insurance paper for Chairman’s signature.

·        Budd needs someone to mow CCP.

 

Recess Meeting

·        At 7:17 P.M. Chairman Zerby recessed the regular meeting.

 

Reconvene Meeting

·        At 8:24 P.M. Chairman Zerby reconvened the regular meeting.

 

Chairman Zerby made a motion to remove Neil Korostoff, as his Alternate to SCCCTS, seconded by Bob C., motion carried unanimously.

 

Chairman Zerby made a motion to appoint Rich Poorman as Alternate to SCCCTS, seconded by Bob C., motion carried unanimously.

 

Adjourn

·        At 8:25 P.M. Chairman Zerby adjourned the meeting.
