POTTER TOWNSHIP

BOARD OF SUPERVISORS

MEETING OF FEBRUARY 2, 2004          

                                                                                        

The first monthly meeting of the Potter Township Board of Supervisors was held on Monday, February 2, 2004 in Township Building #2 with Supervisors Paul Zerby, Monty Strouse, Bob Corman, Rich Poorman and Tom Sharer present.  Also attending were Road Superintendent Budd Brooks, Solicitor Robert Rayman, Zoning Officer Jeff McClellan and Secretary Brenda Burd.

 

Chairman Zerby called the meeting to order at 6:59 P.M.

 

Minutes of the January 12, 2004 meeting were approved as presented on a motion by Rich and seconded by Tom.  Motion carried unanimously.  

 

Citizens Concerns

·        Ann Glaser asked the Board if they have considered a permanent representative for the MPO as the PVRPC would like. 

 

Mark Ralston attended the meeting to ask if the Supervisors had any comments on his preliminary water report.  They had no comments except it was well done.  Mark said he will ask the Planning Commission for their comments at their February 3, 2004 meeting then finalize the report.

 

Secretary’s Report

·        Presented DCED Annual Survey of Financial Condition for the Chairman’s signature.

·        Centre County Elections Office requests confirmation to use the Township facility as polling place on April 27 and November 2, 2004.  Approved.

·        Presented Statement of Financial Interest for the Board to complete and return.

·        It is time for the Ag Security Area review.  Confirmed the names of the previous Ag Security Advisory Committee.

 

Open Discussion

·        Budd introduced Don Franson who thanked the Supervisors for his appointment as Alternate Engineer.

·        Bob C. commented that the last MPO meeting was very productive and informative.

·        Jeff commented on Engineers coming to his office, looking at maps then going back to their offices and re-drawing the maps from memory.

·        Bob C. commends Budd and his crew for the outstanding job they have been doing.

·        Budd asked the Board if they have any comments on the paving jobs for 2004. 

·        Tom asked Jeff if he has spoken to #1 Cycle about their glare problem.  Jeff said Mr. Yearick is in Florida.

·        Tom asked Jeff if he is still on CH-PSA.  No.  Discussion followed.  It has been posted on our Website with no response.  Monty was asked to ask the Planning Commission.  Secretary was asked to call Mark Ralston about serving.

 

 

 

Penns Valley Regional Planning Commission – Rich.

·        The Township received an E-mail stating all PVRPC meetings will be held at Gregg Township and any contributions toward heating and snacks would be appreciated.  Discussion followed and Rich was advised to suggest to PVRPC that they collect the $200-$250 from each municipality as originally discussed.

·        At 7:21 P.M. Chairman Zerby adjourned the regular meeting.

 

Re-Open Meeting

·        At 8:03 P.M. Chairman Zerby re-opened the regular meeting.

 

Fred Henry presented Centre Foods Enterprises Subdivision with site distance changes and put a note on the plan that this subdivision cannot be re-subdivided.

 

Paul suggested that now would be a good time to have plans drawn for the cabinets behind the meeting room table.  Discussion followed.  Paul will ask someone to draw up some plans.

·        At 8:10 P.M. Chairman Zerby adjourned the meeting.
