POTTER TOWNSHIP

BOARD OF SUPERVISORS

MEETING AUGUST 5, 2002

 

The first monthly meeting of the Potter Township Board of Supervisors was held Monday August 5, 2002 in the Township Building #2 with Supervisors Paul Zerby, Monty Strouse, Robert Corman, Richard Poorman and Tom Sharer present.  Also attending were Solicitor Robert Rayman and Temporary Secretary, Budd Brooks.

 

Chairman Zerby called the meeting to order at 7:00 P.M.

 

Minutes from July 8, 2002, on a motion by Monty to approve, seconded by Rich, vote carried unanimously.

 

Citizens Concerns – None.

 

Old Business                                                                                                             

  • On a motion by Rich, seconded by Bob C. to draft ordinance and zoning changes needed to modify the residential district in the Old Fort area along Rt. 45 and 144.  Vote carried with Tom opposing and Monty abstaining.
  • Monty discussed Fire Co. loan payment.

 

Secretary’s Report    

  • On a motion by Bob C., seconded by Paul, to get Phil Robbins of Government Center for Local Government to attend a meeting to discuss use of land studies grant, vote carried unanimously.
  • The Secretary presented Municipal Response for Yearick Subdivision. Supervisors had no comments.
  • Confirmed that Sept 2, 2002, a Holiday, is a meeting night.
  • It’s time to get started on the Newsletter.  Supervisors agreed.

 

 Correspondence

  • Centre Hall-Potter Sewer Financial Statement.
  • Centre County Comprehensive Plan update.
  • Centre County Planning Commission update.
  • Centre Hall-Potter Sewer Authority minutes for May 21 & June 18.
  • Gregg Twp invitation for Workshop on proposed Rural Historic District for Penns Valley.
  • Thank you from Penns Valley Swim Team for donation.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Road Superintendent Report

  • Country Club Park water system started August 1, 2002.
  • Saturday, October 12, 2002 was set as Riff-Raff day.
  • Reviewed proposal from HRG Engineering to study Neff-Tusseyville drainage problem and design possible solution.  On a motion by Paul, seconded by Monty to accept the proposal, vote carried unanimously.

 

New Business

  • Tom received a call from Tom Songer requesting representation from the Supervisors and Planning Commission at a meeting at Shaner Complex 8/6/02 at 2:30 P.M.

 

Open Discussion

  • Paul Sampsell regarding drainage problem on new driveway at Neff-Tusseyville Subdivision.  Budd will watch.
  • Garth Benton asked for clarification on motion made regarding rezoning Rt. 45 & 144 at Old Fort area.
  • On a motion by Bob C., seconded by Paul to look at zoning regulations for wellhead-water protection, vote carried unanimously.

 

Adjourn

  • At 7:35 P.M. Chairman Zerby recessed the meeting for an executive session on personnel.  Meeting was reconvened at 8:05 P.M. and Chairman Zerby adjourned the meeting.
