POTTER TOWNSHIP

BOARD OF SUPERVISORS

MEETING JULY 8, 2002

 

 

The second monthly meeting of the Potter Township Board of Supervisors was held Monday July 8, 2002 in the Township Building #2 with Supervisors Paul Zerby, Monty Strouse, Richard Poorman and Tom Sharer present.  Robert Corman was absent.  Also attending were Solicitor, Robert Rayman and Office/Clerical Personnel Susan Tucker.

 

Chairman Zerby called the meeting to order at 7:00 P.M.

 

Minutes from July 1, 2002, on a motion by Tom to approve and seconded by Monty, vote carried unanimously with the following correction,  should have stated Paul motioned to approve the continued study instead of approve rezoning the Centre Hall, Potter Area.

 

 

Citizens Concerns – None

 

 

Planning Commission Report – Sandra Rishel

·        Linn Auman from Penn Terra Engineering presented preliminary plan for conditional approval for #1 Cycle Centre Land Development.

·        Fred Stover expressed his objections and concerns over Tornatore subdivision.

·        Bob Jacobs, Assistant Director, Centre Country Planning gave update of comprehensive plans and answered our questions and concerns on our current status.

 

 

Subdivisions

·        Linn Auman from Penn Terra Engineering presented preliminary land development plan for 6 self storage units for #1 Cycle Centre for conditional approval, still need letter from Zoning. On a motion with conditional approval by Tom, seconded by Paul, vote carried unanimously.

·        Mr. Auman also requested that the road for #1 Cycle development be named Yearick Boulevard.  On a motion by Paul to accept the name and seconded by Monty, vote carried unanimously.

 

 

Old Business

·        Decision was made on Rallis roads and streets standards appeal hearing.  On a motion to deny from Tom, seconded by Rich, vote carried unanimously.

 

 

 

 

 

Solicitor’s Report

·        Sent letter to Anson Burwell with Centre County Planning Office, regarding the Emery subdivision. 

·        Still have not heard anything from Penn Dot in regards to Park and Ride. 

·        Bill Tobin called wanted to set up meeting with Penn Dot and George Khoury, told him to wait until we hear from Penn Dot.

·        Jersey Shore Bank wants a copy of our IRS Tax Exempt Certificate for our note.

·        Taxpayer in regards to his tax returns, will meet with his attorney tomorrow to review everything.

·        Kissinger appeal – still going thru the stages.

 

Secretary’s Report

·        Presented Treasurers Report

·        Presented Account Payables Report for approval for payment.

·        Tom Sharer asked Monty when the Fire Protection Payment was due.  Monty will check with the Centre Hall Borough.  Should send payment out around September 1, 2002 but not due until December.

 

Correspondence

·        Chuck Herr, letter in regards to #1 Cycle Centre Development

·        Centre County Conservation  District Newsletter.

·        Centre County Solid Waste Recyclable Report.

·        Clearwater Conservation.

 

New Business – None

 

Open Discussion

·        Amy Grove wanted the letter clarified that the residents of Country Club Park received in regards to their drinking water.  Roy and Mark Rupert explained the report and how the EPA worked.

·        Ann Glaser asked Bob R. about the subdivision land committee.  It was on the agenda for the Planning Committee.

 

Adjourn

·        At 7:43 P.M.  on a motion by Monty and seconded by Paul to adjourn the meeting.  Vote carried unanimously.  Meeting adjourned.
