BOARD OF SUPERVISORS

MEETING JULY 1, 2002

 

 

The first monthly meeting of the Potter Township Board of Supervisors was held on Monday July 1, 2002 in the Township Building #2 with Supervisors Paul Zerby, Monty Strouse, Robert Corman, Richard Poorman and Tom Sharer present.  Also attending were Solicitor, Robert Rayman and Temporary Secretary, Budd Brooks.

 

 

Chairman Zerby called the meeting to order at 7:00 P.M. then recessed meeting for appeal hearing for Rallis driveway.  At 7:55 P.M. meeting reconvened.

 

 

Minutes and Financial Report from June 10, 2002, on a motion by Monty to approve and seconded by Paul, vote carried unanimously.

 

 

Citizens Concerns

            None

 

 

Old Business

·        Castleberry to discuss the water study was scheduled for July 22, 2002.

·        Paul motioned to approve the continued study for rezoning in the Centre Hall-Potter Area, seconded by Rich, vote carried 3-1.  Tom was opposed. Monty abstained from voting.

·        Tom Kuhlman talked to Dana Boob about water supply in Centre Hall.

 

 

Secretary’s Report

·        Resolution #11-2002, Tax Collector can charge a fee for returned checks, on a motion by Paul to approve and seconded by Rich, vote carried unanimously.

·        Coyne subdivision would like Lakeview Lane approved as road name.  On a motion by Paul and seconded by Bob C. vote carried unanimously.

 

 

Correspondence

·        Penn State University

·        Park and Ride Agreement

·        Tornatore subdivision

·        Centre County Comprehensive Plan Update

·        Centre County Solid Waste Recycling Report for May

·        Centre Hall Fire Company Report for May 2002.

 

 

Road Superintendent’s Report

·        Sewage complaint referred to Chuck Herr.  Met with Steve Lyncha, from HRG Engineering, on the Neff-Tusseyville drainage problem.  Should have his proposal within 2 weeks on what can be done to correct the problem.

·         Nittany Baptist Church, still has water problems the engineer will send them a letter on how to resolve the problem.

·         East Egg Hill Estates want to change amount of fill on road.

·        Pouring concrete tomorrow on Lower Georges Valley Road

·        Flashing lights on Route 322 at the Route 144 intersection, were installed on Friday June 28, 2002.  Just waiting for Allegheny Power to hook up power.

 

New Business

            Amy Grove expressed concerns about the Water Report for Country Club Park.           Will have Mark and Roy Rupert here at next meeting to answer any         questions.

             At 8:20 P.M. on a motion by Paul and seconded by Bob C. to adjourn the       meeting.  Vote carried unanimously.  Meeting adjourned.
