Monthly Meeting Minutes

The pledge of allegiance was said before the start of the meeting.

 

The monthly meeting of the Centre Hall Fire Company was brought to order by President, Harry Hockenberry at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, November 9, 2009.

 

Members Present were:    Chad Entz, Jack Muthersbaugh, Harry Hockenberry,  Alvin Spotts, Rodney Brungart, Jake Heverly, Jackie Muthersbaugh,  Don Pecht, Chris Hockenberry, Kenny Strouse, Brian Tice, Monty Strouse, Brian Long, Les Gordon, Jr. Orndorf and Ryan Sweitzer, Dave Keller, Davis Araujo, Josh Araujo, Gerald Korman, Domer Smeltzer, Paul Young and Chuck Solt.

 

Secretary’s Report:

Motion to approve secretary’s report made by Kenny Strouse, seconded by Brian Tice. Motion Carried.

 Audit:  Jack Muthersbaugh, Norma Crater, Les Gordon, Brian Long. 

Fire Tax/TWPMeetings:   Brian Long, Chad Packer.   Fire tax committee met with Grange Fair committee again.  A few suggestions for mailing for donations.  One is to offer something to go with a donation, i.e. free hall rental, free hat. 

5-10 year Plan:  Executive Officers, Chiefs, Trustees and Fire Police.

Building/Property: Brian Long, Don Pecht, Kenny Strouse, Harry Hockenberry, Domer Smeltzer, Tim Packer and Monty Strouse. 

Interview:   Executive Officers, Trustees

Carnival:  Chad Packer, Chris Hockenberry, Jack Muthersbaugh, Rodney Brungart, Brandon Musser, Jackie Muthersbaugh and Brian Long.  

Website: Les Gordon, Jackie Muthersbaugh.   

Banquet: Chad Entz, Michelle Entz and Rodney Brungart. 3rd Saturday of February 2010.  Motion for members to pay half of the meal cost for members made by Brian Tice, seconded by Chad Packer.  Motion Carried.

Fundraising: All in the Company. 

Apparatus:  Chad Entz, Philip Orndorf, Ryan Hockenberry, Kenny Strouse, Rodney Brungart, Brian Long and Chris Hockenberry.  Rescue lights are being sent away for repair.

Grants:    Dave Keller and Toby Stoner. 

Gun Raffle:  Harry Hockenberry, Rodney Brungart,(Chair) Bill Rockey, Bryan Packer, Bob Lair and Steven Crater.  Gun raffle meeting 17th at 630pm.  Going to give Noll’s Gun Shop a chance at providing the guns for next year’s raffle.   Could have saved us about $600 last year.

Fire Fighter of the Year: President, 400 & 401. 

Membership List:  Jack Muthersbaugh, Brian Tice.  Still updating, hoping to have it finished by end of the year.

Elections Committee:  Ryan Hockenberry, Les Gordon and Jake Heverly.

Application for Membership: Bill Rockey, Les Gordon and Jackie Muthersbaugh. 

 

Old Business 

Still looking into the mailing for company donations.  First company was interviewed, second being met with tonight.

 

Executive Committee will meet after meeting to discuss a gun drawing issue.

 

New Business    

 

Motion made by Monty Strouse to make Jake Heverly in charge of the old apparatus and who drives them once the restoration is complete, seconded by Alvin Spotts.  Motion Carried.

All the above were closed and Motion Carried.  Only write-ins will be accepted for next month’s meeting for positions.

 

 

Good of the Company

 

Need to address the internal issues within the fire company.  Members are not showing up for work night. 

 

Borough resident was interested in top soil from the shed sight.  Co. decided it was not a good idea.

 

Motion to adjourn made by Kenny Strouse, seconded by Jackie Muthersbaugh.
