Monthly Meeting Minutes

The pledge of allegiance was said before the start of the meeting.

 

The monthly meeting of the Centre Hall Fire Company was brought to order by President, Harry Hockenberry at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, May 12, 2009.

 

Members Present were:    Michelle Entz, Chad Entz, Jack Muthersbaugh, Harry Hockenberry,  Brian Long, Jackie Muthersbaugh, Jake Heverly, Rodney Brungart, Chad Packer, Davis Araujo, Jr. Orndorf,  Brian Tice, Kenny Strouse, Les Gordon, Monty Strouse, Chris Hockenberry, Alvin Spotts, Bill Rockey, Dave Keller, Charles, Denny Foust from Potter Township and Norma Crater from Centre Hall Borough.

 

Secretary’s Report:

Motion to approve secretary’s report made by Brian Tice, seconded by Davis Araujo.  Motion Carried.

Friday night bonfire at Penns Valley High School, need crew for Engine to put fire out.  Jr. will gather crew.

Car Show Saturday and Sunday 16-17th at Grange Fair.  Rescue needs to be taken down.

 

June 20th shuttle water for Millheim’s bucket brigade.

 

414 standby for parade on Saturday for Boalsburg 5/23/09.  Need crew.

 

Bring in your certificates from completed classes to keep a copy on file.

 

Expedition (#436) is in service.

 

Swimming pool fill ups need to prepay at $50.00 per load.  Please fill our paperwork.

Trustees’ Report: Women’s bathroom remodel is underway.

 

Committees:

 

Norma Crater (Centre Hall Borough) presented changes in a memo from the Joint Change Committee.  New Committee consists of:  Potter Twp, Dennis Foust, Ronald Horner and Ronald Sweitzer.  From Centre Hall Borough:  Norma Crater, Harry Henry and Kathy Long.  Fire Company reps are:  David Keller, Brian Long and Kenny Strouse.  Committee is recommending a change in the Cooperative Agreement.  2 meetings have taken place since the March 26, 2009 joint Borough, Potter and Fire Company meeting.  Memo and drafted cooperative meeting minutes available for review.  Committee will represent all three entities.  Harry Hockenberry makes a motion to continue this committee, seconded by Jr. Orndorf.  Motion Carried.

Executive Committee:  Harry, Hockenberry, Bill Rockey, Jack Muthersbaugh, Michelle Entz, Chad Packer, Alvin Spotts and Rodney Brungart.

 Audit:  Jack Muthersbaugh, Norma Crater, Les Gordon, Brian Long. 

Fire Tax/TWPMeetings:   Brian Long, Chad Packer. 

5-10 year Plan:  Executive Officers, Chiefs, Trustees and Fire Police.

Building/Property: Brian Long, Don Pecht, Kenny Strouse, Harry Hockenberry, Domer Smeltzer, Tim Packer and Monty Strouse.

Interview:   Executive Officers, Trustees

Carnival:  Chad Packer, Chris Hockenberry, Jack Muthersbaugh, Rodney Brungart, Brandon Musser, Jackie Muthersbaugh and Brian Long. 

Website: Les Gordon, Jackie Muthersbaugh. 

Banquet: Chad Entz, Michelle Entz and Rodney Brungart.

Fundraising: All in the Company.

Apparatus:  Chad Entz, Philip Orndorf, Ryan Hockenberry, Kenny Strouse, Rodney Brungart, Brian Long and Chris Hockenberry.  Currently in production.  Pictures are on internet each Friday.

Grants:    Dave Keller and Toby Stoner.  Gun Raffle:  Harry Hockenberry, Rodney Brungart,(Chair) Bill Rockey, Bryan Packer, Bob Lair and Steven Crater.  1600 tickets currently out.

Fire Fighter of the Year: President, 400 & 401. 

Membership List:  Jack Muthersbaugh, Brian Tice.  In progress.

Elections Committee:  Ryan Hockenberry, Les Gordon and Jake Heverly.

Application for Membership: Bill Rockey, Les Gordon and Jackie Muthersbaugh.  In Progress.

New Business    

The company has enough money to purchase a shed for the new building site.  Motion to purchase a shed with the profits from the 2 hoagies sales (approx $4500) made by Rodney Brungart, seconded by Jake Heverly.  Motion Carried.  Zoning permit will need to be obtained.

 

 

 

Good of the Company

 

Attendance at the round barn meeting on Wednesday, May 13, 2009 is requested if anyone would like to attend.

 

Grace United Methodist Church sent a thank you from the Sunday school.

 

Rodney Brungart would like to thank the company for their quick response on Sunday to the fire at his home.
