Old
Business The Executive Committee met with Jane Taylor from the Office of
Aging. The Centre County Commissioners
offered to pay $225.00 per month for the senior citizens using the fire
hall. The Committee thought an
acceptable alternative would be the $225 plus the County would provide a
janitor to clean. The County came back
and agreed to pay the full $300. The
members just have to maintain the floors and bathrooms. The increase will be good from August 2008
through December 2009. Motion to accept
lease made by Chad Entz, seconded by Alvin Spotts. Motion Carried.
Building Committee will check on putting a usable storage shed on the
land for the future station to avoid paying taxes and for storage.
New Business A Borough resident has requested to purchase old dishes from the Fire Station storage. Executive Committee has agreed to sell at nominal fee.
Township Supervisor, Tom Sharer presented the President with a letter stating that State Act 7 mandates that municipalities and townships must communicate with EMS and Fire Service. The Township is requesting the attendance of Fire Company at Township Meetings at least every quarter. The Township also wants to set up a work session involving the Township, Fire Company, and Borough for March 2009. They are looking for the Fire Company to present their 5-10 year plan. Additionally the Township is asking for a yearly report of what was spent before receiving funds. Supervisor Sharer also recommended setting up a Board of Directors consisting of members from the Township, Borough and Fire Company. The funds would be put in a separate fund and ran by the Board of Directors.
Dave Keller will be setting up a group called Code 44. This group would provide food, etc for calls during evening or night calls. This group would strictly be for fire fighter support and would not involve any fundraising efforts. If interested, please see Dave Keller.
