Monthly Meeting Minutes

Tuesday November 11, 2005

 

 

The monthly meeting of the Centre Hall Fire Company was brought to order by Vice-President Shawn Luse at 1900 hours on Tuesday November 11, 2005.

 

Members Present:  Steven Crater, Ryan Hockenberry, Scott Koch, Brian Long, Shawn Luse, Jackie Muthersbaugh, Ryan Newman, Philip Orndorf Jr., Autumn Packer, Chad Packer, Bryan Packer, Tom Stoner and Kenny Strouse.

 

Motion to approve the secretary’s report made by Chad Entz, and seconded by Harry Hockenberry.  Motion carried.

 

Treasurer’s report as follows:

 

Beginning balance:         $13888.37                     Outflows Included:        Insurance                      $3591.00

Chief’s Report:

 

As of October 30th, there have been 195 calls.  20 Calls for the month of October

 

MVA’s -9                                                         17 calls in Potter Twp

Barn Fire- 1 with 1 Rekindle                              3 calls in Centre Hall Borough

Public Service- 4

Fire Police Only- 2

Wild Fire- 2

Wires Down- 1

 

The Chief’s would like to once again remind everyone to remember to have the air-pack straps extended the whole way out when they are finished with them and they are returned to the apparatus. 

New accountability ID tags are going to be made.  The will be OK to be used in Mifflin County incidents.  Centre County is working on their system.

The Firehouse Fire Reporting software is in the process of being reinstalled in the computers.  Please do not tamper with this program.

 

Fire Police Report- No Report

 

Trustee’s Report:

 

The spouting and windows have been installed.  Thank you to everyone who helped.  Rich Hosterman has advised that the heating oil tank needs to be moved for insurance reasons.  Trustee’s will look at the situation and come up with a plan.

A motion was made to purchase two new outdoor lights for the entrance way to the front/side of the station, with the price not to exceed $75.00 for both, made by Chad Entz and seconded by Chad Packer.  Motion Carried.

 

Committee Reports:

 

Funds Procurement- No Report

Grant- We officially received our rejection letter from FEMA.

Apparatus- No Report

By-Law- Copies are ready for distribution.  If you haven’t received yours, please pick them up.

Land/Building- The Twp. and Borough met with the committee on 10/26.

Plaque-  No Report

Banquet- A tentative date of 2/25 has been set.  The cost of a DJ would be $150.00 for 4 hours.  The committee will work on meal ideas.

New Business:

 

Ryan Newman and Brandon Musser were both voted into the company from probationary status to active members by a unanimous vote.

 

A motion was made by Chad Entz to raise Treasurer Jack Muthersbaugh’s monthly compensation to $100.00/month, and seconded by Jackie Muthersbaugh.  Motion Carried.

 

Harry Hockenberry made a motion to no more than $75.00 on food for the Centre County Fire Chief’s Association meeting to be held at our station on November 17th.  Motion seconded by Chad Packer.  Motion Carried.

 

After discussing the development of a website for the company, a motion was made to purchase a domain/name for the website for a cost of $150.00 total for a 10 year contract.  Motion made by Chad Entz, seconded by Chad Packer.

Motion Carried.

 

The regular meeting was adjourned and the executive committee went into executive session.  Upon discussion, the executive committee decided to make an exception for Willard Muthersbaugh, who is now residing in Gregg Twp.  This decision was based on place of employment, years of service and level of training/experience.  The decision was made by 4-0 vote, which Willard Muthersbaugh would be eligible to be nominated and run for Fire Police Captain (470).

 

The meeting was reopened after the executive session.

 

Nominations for the 2006 Line Officers/Administrative Offices were opened.

 

Nominations for 400 are as follows:  Chad Packer.  Harry Hockenberry motioned to close nominations for 400, seconded by Chad Entz.  Motion Carried

 

Nominations for 401 are as follows:  Harry Hockenberry and Brian Long.  Ryan Hockenberry motioned to close nominations for 401, seconded by Chad Packer.  Motion Carried.

 

Nominations for 402 are as follows:  Chris Hockenberry.  Chad Packer motioned to close nominations for 402, seconded by Harry Hockenberry.  Motion Carried.

 

Nominations for 403 are as follows:  Domer Smeltzer and Shawn Luse.  Tom Stoner motioned to close nominations for 402, seconded by Kenny Strouse.  Motion Carried.

 

Nominations for 404 are as follows:  Lester Gordon, Philip Orndorf Jr. and Ryan Hockenberry.  Tom Stoner motioned to close the nominations for 404, seconded by Jackie Muthersbaugh.  Motion Carried.

 

Nominations for 406 are as follows:  Tom Stoner, Chad Entz and Philip Orndorf Jr.  Tom Stoner motioned to close nominations for 406, seconded by Chad Packer.  Motion Carried.

 

Nominations for 407 are as follows:  Tom Stoner and Chad Entz.  Tom Stoner motioned to close nominations for 407, seconded by Harry Hockenberry.  Motion Carried.

 

Nominations for 470 are as follows:  Willard Muthersbaugh.  Autumn Packer motioned to close nominations for 470, seconded by Tom Stoner.

 

Nominations for 471 are as follows:  Alvin Spotts, Gary Philips and Dave Keller.  Jackie Muthersbaugh motioned to close nominations for 471, seconded by Chad Packer.  Motion Carried.

 

Nominations for President are as follows:  Kenny Strouse.  Tom Stoner Motioned to close nominations for President, seconded by Bryan Packer.  Motion Carried.

 

Nominations for Vice-President are as follows:  Don Pecht.  Chad Entz motioned to close nominations for Vice-President, seconded by Chris Hockenberry.  Motion Carried.

 

Nominations for Secretary are as follows:  Autumn Packer.  Chad Entz motioned to close nominations for Secretary, seconded by Chad Packer.  Motion Carried.

 

Nominations for Treasurer are as follows:  Jack Muthersbuagh.  Harry Hockenberry motioned to close nominations for Treasurer, seconded by Jackie Muthersbaugh.  Motion Carried.

 

Nominations for the open Trustee position are as follows:  Steven Crater.  Ryan Hockenberry motioned to close nominations for Trustee, seconded by Chad Entz.  Motion Carried.

 

Chad Entz made a motion to close all nominations for the 2006 year, motion seconded by Jackie Muthersbaugh.  Motion Carried.
