Monthly Meeting Minutes

The monthly meeting of the Centre Hall Fire Company was brought to order by President Scott Floray on Tuesday April 12, 2005 at 7:00 p.m.

 

Members present:  Chad Entz, Scott Floray, Lester Gordon, Justin Gray, Richard Hart, Chris Hockeberry, Harry Hockenberry, Ryan Hockenberry, Gerald Korman, Brian Long, Jack Muthersbaugh, Jackie Muthersbaugh, Willard Muthersbaugh, Philip Orndorf, Autumn Packer, Bryan Packer, Chad Packer, Gary Phillips, Alvin Spotts and Anastasia Winisko.

 

Motion to approve Secretaries report made by Chad Packer, seconded by Willard Muthersbaugh. Motion Carried.

A crew is needed for 413 for a Stand By at Station 9 on Sunday April 17, 2005. 

 

There will be a tour and fire drill at the Wynwood House on Monday 4/25 at 6:30 p.m.

 

400 asked that whenever we go out on public service incident, please notify the county preferably by telephone whether you are going to be in the borough or township so it is noted on the incident card.

 

Per 403, the brush truck is now drafting water properly.

 

Fire Police Report-                 6 Calls with 10 ½ man-hours

 

 

 

Trustees Report-

 

The Trustees would like to thank everyone who showed up for the work day on Saturday April 9th.  The new windows are installed with the exception of the bathroom windows and the exhaust fan at the rear of the engine bay.

 

4 Contractors have been contacted for bids/estimates for replacing the gutters and down spouts.  Ryan Hockenberry will present them at the next meeting.

 

Committee Reports-

 

SOG- No report

Fund Raising- The Cattle sale at the Grange Fairgrounds will be on Saturday March 23rd with manpower meeting at the station at 0800 hrs. 

We will proceed with our Basket Bingo.  The tentative date pending fairground/building availability is Saturday September 24th.  Autumn will continue to plan and gather information.

A Motion was made by Willard Muthersbaugh and seconded by Jackie Muthersbaugh to start up the 50/50 tickets based on the daily number again.  Proceeds will be put into a entertainment account for future Christmas Partys, etc.  Motion Carried.

Motion made by Chad Packer and seconded by Jackie Muthersbaugh to rent tables in the rear engine bay for $10.00 each for the Townwide Yard Sale this year.  Motion Carried.

The Monthly Shrimp Feed will be held on Friday April 15th.  Help is always needed.  NOTE: This will be the last one of the year.

Funds Procurement- The 5 and 10 year plan has been presented to Potter Township for their review.

Grant-  The FEMA Grant has been submitted.  The DCNR grant is due by the end of May.  We will be submitting the application for wildland gear for members.

Carnival-  A sign-up sheet will be posted for help for the stands.  Please sign up.    The parade will start at 6:30 p.m.  There will be no change in the route this year.

Apparatus- The toggle switch in 414 has been repaired.

Plaque- No Report

By-Law- Ledon Young has read over and approved the by-laws.  The 1st reading of the by-laws was performed.

Land/Building- no report

 

Unfinished Business-

 

Motion made by Chad Packer to not purchase/install keyless entry system at the station.  Seconded by Willard Muthersbaugh.  Motion Carried.

 

The new Letterhead is being worked on by Colonial Press.

 

Chad Packer will bring details about constructing a website to the next meeting.

 

New Business-

 

Motion made to Chad Packer to pay $20.00 to the Centre County Chief’s Association for our yearly dues.  Seconded by Jackie Muthersbaugh.  Motion Carried.

 

Discussion on purchasing chrome wheel covers for the front wheels of 412.  Motion made to purchase by Chad Packer, seconded by Jackie Muthersbaugh.  Motion Carried. 

 

Good of the Company-

 

There was a profit of over $500.00 for last month’s shrimp feed.

 

Upcoming Training-  Pumps 1-May 14 and 15th starting at 0800 hrs at our station.  There will be an upcoming Firefighter 1 Certification preparation class that will be instructed by Tim Schreffler.  More details coming soon.

 

On June 13th, there will be a public service detail at the Centre Hall Library.
